Prince Edward Island is an Island Province comprising of around 200 small islands. It is one of the smallest provinces and 600 Kms from Quebec City. The Island consists of two urban areas and is mainly dependent upon the three seasonal industries of agriculture, tourism, and fishery. There are limited resources when it comes to employment opportunities.
The island has two urban areas. The largest surrounds Charlottetown Harbour, situated on the island’s southern shore, and consists of the capital city Charlottetown. A much smaller urban area surrounds Summerside Harbour, situated on the southern shore 40 km west of Charlottetown Harbour, and consists primarily of the city of Summerside.
Prince Edward Island has a population of about 140,000. The provincial economy is dominated by the seasonal industries of

Eligibility to Apply
- The requirements of at least one of the Federal Economic Immigration programs must be met-
- Federal Skilled Worker Program;
- Federal Skilled Trades Program; or
- Canadian Experience Class
- Creation of a Federal Express Entry Profile and be placed in the pool of candidates. You can create a profile through the PEI Expression of Interest (EOI) system to express your interest.
How to apply?
First of all, you need to create a profile in the PEI EOI system once the eligibility requirements are met. This profile includes your email address, identification information, passport details, etc. You will get a maximum of 100 points based on these selection factors such as age, language, education, employment, work experience, and adaptability.
Once your account is verified by the Canadian government, you can proceed with your profile. The profiles are exclusive, i.e., one person can have one profile at a time. The profile must be accurate and true.
Then on receiving the invitation from the PEI PNP, submit the application for the provincial nomination within 60 days along with all required documents.

If you are currently working in PEI on a post-graduate open work permit, you must satisfy the following conditions prior to applying:
If you have a post-graduation work permit and are working in PEI, you must-
- Have at least a full-time experience of 6 months for your current employer in PEI
- Have at least 4 months left for the expiration of your permit from the day you are submitting your application for residence
